Hello and welcome to Mrs. Welch's 3rd Grade! I am excited to be your teacher for the 2016-2017 academic year. 

My name is Amber Welch. I am from Western North Carolina. In 2010, I graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I decided I wanted to try the big city life. I moved to Washington, D.C. and taught 1st grade for a few years. After living in the city for a while, I decided to move back to my home state. 

In 2013, I moved to Holly Springs. I taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Harnett County before starting my career at Holly Grove. This will be my first year as a Hedgehog and I couldn't be more excited!

I have a wonderful husband (Joe) and a very energetic 10 month old (Elias). Rounding out the Welch clan is our little mutt (Gretchen).

 

I am a sports enthusiast and you will often hear me chatting about the current standings with a smile on my face (or, choking back tears). My favorite teams:

 

• College: Appalachian State and The University of Tennessee (they play each other this year...eeekkk)

• Football: Carolina Panthers (I was a fan pre-Cam)

• NBA: Dallas Mavericks

• MLB: Baltimore Orioles

• Hockey: Carolina Hurricanes (Elias is named after a player)
